Enjoy a night filled with dance performances of all kinds, aerial arts, improv comedy, storytelling, and live music. Get on out on the dance floor in between sets and show everyone how it’s done. Upstairs, check out the buti yoga demonstration or get a massage or watch a painting come to life before your eyes. Delight all your senses while reliving the BEST DECADES EVER.

Melanie Bianchi - Storytelling

Melanie McGee Bianchi is a career lifestyle journalist from Asheville, NC. She was arts & entertainment editor of the AAN weekly Mountain Xpress for a decade (1997-2007), picking up an international industry award for editing; editor of the regional women’s monthly Verve (2012-2014), a publication that included a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer on staff; and is currently managing editor of two upscale print magazines: the cultural monthly Bold Life and the architectural-and-interiors quarterly Carolina Home + Garden.

Melanie has performed poetry at the Black Mountain Museum + Arts Center and has shared life episodes as part of the storytelling-in-performance series “Listen to This” at Asheville Community Theatre and at several other storytelling venues: Stories by the River, West End Reading Series, and Juniper Bends Series. She has been a finalist in two national poetry prizes: the Black Warrior Review National Poetry Prize (2011) and the Tusculum Review Chapbook Contest (2014), where she was first-runner-up. Melanie lives in West Asheville and has a 9-year-old son.

Amber Victoria - Aerials

Amber started her dance education as a youth at Cypress Lake Center for the Arts where she studied Dance throughout middle and high school. She continued her training in college at UNC Asheville where she became certified as a Group Fitness Instructor and began teaching yoga and cardio dance. Currently, Amber offers workshops in Dance Fitness, Movement Meditation/Body Awareness, Flow Arts, and Choreography, and teaches weekly at Empyrean Arts in South Slope, Asheville.

DJ How D Bot

How D Bot is a space-time tourist who recently quit an unsuccessful career as a gunfighter to become an unconventional DJ. How D Bot repurposes his loop station and effect pedals to bring tripped out, funky jams from the heart of the universe to the people of planet Earth.

Buti Yoga (Upstairs)

Cynthia Sim’s Buti yoga class is a high-intensity workout that fuses yoga, plyometrics and tribal dance. Each class consist of deep stretching, shaking, spiraling and heart pounding cardio. Cynthia started practicing yoga in 2003 and found Buti yoga in 2014. She immediately fell in love with Buti yoga and the freedom that it created within her body, it left her feeling energized, strong and with the most excitement about any fitness/yoga class. She became certified to teach Buti yoga in 2015 and is passionate about sharing the method with other women. Buti means the cure to something hidden or kept secret. ~ Your vibe attracts your tribe~
