Long bio:

Christine Garvin, MA, NE, RWP is a Functional Nutritionist based in Asheville, NC. Her training includes a Masters in Holistic Health Education from John F. Kennedy University, Nutrition Educator certification from Bauman College, functional hormone training through Nicole Jardim’s Fix Your Period Apprenticeship, and Level I – Mastering the Art and Science of Gastrointestinal Healing, Level II – Mastering the Art and Science of Optimizing Hormones, and Level III – Mastering the Art and Science of Nutritional Blood Chemistry from Restorative Wellness Solutions.

Having gone through two of her own major health crises, the first in her early 20s after being diagnosed with IBS, the second in her late 30s when a surgery to remove a fibroid nearly killed her, Christine is passionate about helping both women and men heal their gut and experience better health than they dreamed possible. Christine weaves together her personal experience – which includes healing her own gut after antibiotics decimated it in her 20s, and once again after emergency surgeries to save her life included the removal of half her colon and 8 in. of small intestine – with her comprehensive training in functional nutrition, which utilizes functional lab testing in order to determine exactly what is going on in her client’s bodies.

Christine is a gifted practitioner, speaker, and writer who really cares about her clients and believes in empowering people to take care of their health now instead of waiting until things are too late. She hosts the podcast, Hormonally Speaking, and offers her experience as a guest expert on podcasts, in magazines, and as a speaker for events. Her areas of focus include perimenopause, fibroids, estrogen dominance, gut dysbiosis, pathogen eradication, and leaky gut.

When not working on gut health or hormones, she loves to dance everything from Hip-Hop to Bhangra (as a former dance instructor and performer!), hike the Blue Ridge Mountains, do puzzles, laugh with friends and family, and snuggle her soul-mate cat, Greysey.

“Awesome job last night! You’re such a good speaker. Somebody was talking about how smooth you were as a speaker and I said it’s because she embodies the message. Truth!” – Jen A.

“I wanted to tell you that I thought your presentation was incredibly engaging. You are clearly passionate about what you do. So refreshing! “I run a monthly educational webinar series where I feature standout practitioners who have really excelled in their craft. When looking for someone to speak on Women’s Health, Christine was one of the first to come to mind. As expected she delivered an excellent presentation that was evidenced based with lots of clinical application – which is what my audiences tune in for. Throughout the process she was very professional and never hesitated to provide me with any extra information I needed. She was extremely relatable and a series favorite. We would have her back anytime.”

“Christine presented the ‘What the hell are my hormones doing?’ workshop at the Creative Intentions Women’s Retreat and we were absolutely floored with the amount of information we didn’t know about our own hormones and cycles!

She had a wonderful balance of visual diagrams chock full of information, and a humorous approach to complicated explanations.

She was able to present to a wide range of women in various stages of their cycles, and provide insight and solutions to multilayered health issues involving hormones and nutrition. Christine is a bright gem in the absence of information on women’s health!”

M Rathsack

“Christine gave a presentation on stress and hormones to the clients inside my organization and we were fascinated by the information she shared.

She was entertaining, engaging, and explained a complex subject matter in terms that were easy to understand.  As someone who is well-versed in the area of stress and health, I learned something new from Christine!

I highly recommend Christine to any organization who is looking for a skilled communicator in the field of women’s health.”
